anyone have a yoshimura trc exhaust?
« on: March 23, 2010, 02:14:48 PM »
i just got mine and im guessing this weird little pipe they gave me is a silencer type of thing. ive heard its really loud without it but i cant really figure out how its supposed to install they say on the instructions to drill a 3/16" hole in the header to secure the slip on but the instructions are kinda vague to be honest. i was wondering if anyone else had one or has put one on who might be willing to help me out with it if you can find it in the kindness of your soul to help a brother out then hit me up lol 402.677.6249 -Ethan

I have a Full Yosh TRC system. There shouldn't be any drilling needed to install the baffle. There is a little rubber plug on the bottom near the exit tip. That pops off and it exposes a bolt with an allen head. Take the bolt out and push the baffle into the exhaust tip. Make sure the holes are aligned up and screw the bolt back in.

If it's a slip on, I believe they want you to drill a hold in the header so you can add a mounting screw so it doesn't slide up or down in a wreck. I'd have to look at it though. Mine has exhaust springs.

I have a Yosh slip-on as well which uses a spring attached to the stock header to help hold it on. I`m no help to you on the baffle but if you don`t have a flange on the slip-on to attach the spring to they probably want you to drill a pilot hole in the header after slipping the exhaust on ( 2X4 and a hammer) and finish it off with a stainless steel self tapping screw or something that wont rust.

thanks everyone i looked at it a little more and ive been able to kind of figure out somewhat how it should fit together. the slip on came with an allen bolt and a clamp to hold the actual muffler in place then it came with a clamp for where it goes into the header and the baffle im thinking about just leaving the out but i hear its a little loud without it. i had to get a new muffler bracket and im waiting on that to return from trail performance coatings. i would kind of prefer to have that baffle in though i think i kind of understand how its supposed to go in. the instructions are just pretty vague and ive never installed one before but i think i should be able to figure it out

If you want to hear it without the baffell, lets go on a ride. I have the full system, but the new header isn't much bigger at all, maybee 1/8 of an inch. It should sound close to what yours will. It's not that loud, not like my HR1 Riot was.
